Tanya Burr Inspired, "How to look gorgeous on a night out"

So last Friday, me and my husband were invited on a surprise birthday celebration. Since it was my first time to go on like a "night out" here in Norway I decided to do a look that is gorgeous but not so overwhelming, and I came across with one of the videos of Tanya Burr. I love her! She's one of my favourite youtube make-up guru. And I thought why not remake this look?

1. Moisturize face, and apply primer if preferred.

2. Fill in eyebrows: I use Maybelline quad #4 shade in filling my inner brow, and use a dark brown e/s to fill in the rest

3. Apply foundation, I use Revlon Colorstay in 240 Medium beige with a flat top brush.

4. Apply eye primer or base.

5. Apply White shimmer e/s all over lids.

6. Using an angled liner brush, apply Black matte e/s on the lash line, make a wing and bring it up to the crease. Blend the hard edges.

7. With a medium and dark shimmer Purple e/s, apply it on the outer V area. Again, blend the hard edges. And apply the same color on the lower lash line.

8. Using a waterproof eyeliner, apply a thin line on the lash line.

9. Set using your powder, I use Mac studio fix in NC30.

10. Apply your favourite mascara.

11. Using a bronzer and an angled brush, contour the cheeks.

12. Using the same brush, I apply creme eyeshadow on the apples of my cheeks.

13. To finish it off, I use Mac Diva on my lips.

Furless Bamboo brush set

So weeks ago, I was searching for a good quality brush set. I've also been wanting to buy Beauty Cosmetics Face Perfection brush set, because I have read great review about that particular set from Ms. Iya Boto which I find it very helpful. I love the flat top kabuki brush!! Click here to read the review.
But then, I found out about this certain brand called FURLESS Cosmetics so I go into details about this certain brand.

As I explore their website, I was amazed because all their brushes are proudly "Vegan friendly" meaning no single animal hair were used! Wow! Also, they promised to NEVER sell cheap, ugly scratchy brush ever! another wow! Plus they have Money Back Guarantee for unsatisfied customers, how great! But the thing that catch my attention and the eagerness to place my first order was, they give discounts to bloggers / video bloggers / make up artist. YES! You read that right! They will give you 50% discount on your first order, then 20% on future orders. AHHH. Isn't it a great deal? *giggles*All you need to do is to apply for the discount code, don't worry it's easy plus the one who assisted me with questions, Coralie Ryan was so friendly and accommodating answering my emails. So then I decided my to place my first order.

I puchased the Mini Bamboo make up brush set. (travel size), since I'll be spending Holidays in the Philippines I need to have a travel sized brush set to bring along with me.

I placed my order last November 6 and came in the mail November 13. So it was pretty fast since it came from Australia. They also offer FLAT RATE for online orders, of just 12.95 Australian dollars.
the pouch has a small pocket so you can put other stuff in there, nice!
the brushes, aren't they cute?
Powder brush, i super like the handle with printed "Furless" on it

Blush brush, I think it can be a good liquid foundation brush too

Crease brush

2 eyeshadow brushes

Angled eyeliner brush

Spool brush

It comes with the following brushes:
• Powder brush
• Blush brush
• 2 eyeshadow brushes
• Crease brush
• Angled eyeliner brush
• Spool (lash/brow groomer)

♦ Perfect for travel that comes with a pouch
♦ Handles are nice. It has the brand name printed on each handle.
♦ Brushes are so SOFT and DENSE, every brush is.
♦ I pull the bristles of every brush, and guess what? No shedding at all.
Classy looking brushes!

Did I like it? Am I satisfied with the brushes? Is it worth every cent?

I love it!! I love every brush in the set, especially the crease brush! And now I'm itching to buy their professional set! haha

BHCosmetics haul

Hello friends! So excited to do this blog and finally it's here. This is the first time I purchased beauty products from BHCosmetics and I'm so excited to try them out especially the 120 palette 5th edition. Maybe you're wondering why I was eager to try out their products; 1) I have read a lot of great reviews, as well as I have watched a lot of videos using their palettes. 2) Low-cost products. I mean who doesn't want affordable products? But of course for the quality of the products, so we'll see about that. I placed my order last November 6 and it came yesterday, November 16.

So starting off with the 120 color palette 5th edition. Since they are known for quality eyeshadow, I was so overwhelmed when I first visited their website, cause there are like 20 different palettes to choose from. Shimmer, Matte, smokey, tropical, cool, warm, like my eyes went like this --> O_o hahahah

Next up is their Jumbo Pencil Concealer in Fair, oh yes it is JUMBO :p

Neutral Smokey eye look

Hey friends! Here's my first make-up detailed post,  I call it Neutral smokey eye look. It's something neutral in color, mostly brown. TOTALLY wearable at day and night time. Compliments any skin type and eye color. I focused on the eyes, I didn't include my face routine.
Okay so just to let you know that I can't find natural lighting here, it's because here in our place the sun rises around 8 or 9 am and sun sets at 3 or 4 pm. Not cool huh? Blame Winter :( So please do understand why I can't take pictures/videos with natural lighting. as much as I wanted too at day time, as you all know I'm a mom so I'm pretty much busy with the baby and doing stuff. lol

1) I always tend to put eye primer whenever I apply shadows. If you don't have a primer, a cream concealer is a good substitute.

2) Apply Medium brown shimmer e/s all over the lids.

3) With Light brown e/s apply it one the crease area using a crease/blending brush.
Maybelline quad in Woodrose
 4) Using a pointed brush, apply Dark brown e/s on the outer V of your eyelids and blend the hard edges

 5) I use White Shimmer e/s to highlight my inner eyelids
 6) Highlight the brow bone using a White matte e/s

And the finish look?

I also made a quick video showing how to create this look.

Products used:
♦ Sephora blockbuster palette 2011
♦ Maybelline quad in Woodrose

Hope you like this post! I would love to hear comments and suggestions friends :)

H&M + Nivea haul

Here goes an impulsive buyer
The other day, we went out for Julia's (my little girl) monthly visit to the doctor, and while we were there I got a bit excited because the doctor told us, she can have her first taste of solid food. She's my first baby, so I'm really excited about everything she's going through especially her "Firsts", talking about motherhood :) So after our visit to the doctor, we went to the mall to buy her first solid food, and part of going to the mall is going to h&m shop (hubby knows that). I don't know why, I just like that shop because they got nice collections of clothes, accessories, and they also have "cosmetics" section. hihih They have different brands like L'oreal, Maybelline, Isa Dora, Maxfactor and their own line of cosmetics.

I bought this on sale! Cutie leopard skirt.Me likey!
Black Stockings, cause I don't have one yet.
Maybelline Falsies, black drama. First time to buy this one
Blending sponge, pink
Cotton pads
Nivea double effect eye makeup remover, I love this product!! I have a separate review about this.
It's not bad to shop and shop and buy and buy, as long as you know for yourself that it's worth the money and you'll be able to use it as well! And even if you have TONS of money, it doesn't mean that you just can buy the most high-end brands, always go for the value, quality and use. :)

Nivea double effect eye make-up remover short review

Hi friends! In this blog, I'm going to share s short review on my current make up remover product. I'm so happy I discovered this product, I've been using this since April 2012 and I'm still satisfied with the results every time I use it. Finally found the most gentle way to remove even my heaviest eye make-up. It's the Nivea double-effect eye make-up remover, aside from it is affordable (49kroner that's roughly Php350) I find it perfect for removing eye make-up as well as caring for your sensitive eye area too.

♦ Double effect eye make-up remover (the blue and clear liquid) I think the Blue serves caring oil, while the clear liquid is the remover itself.
♦ Extreme waterproof mascara remover - I agree. I always prefer to use waterproof mascara, so this is a plus point for me. It really removes my mascara, with 5-6 wipes. I'm not really into like "instant" effect, so it doesn't bother me if I do 5 wipes on my eyes.
♦ Caring formula protects eye lashes. Suitable even for sensitive eye area

125ml, a lot of product compared to other brands

(this video shows how the product effectively removes layers of eye make-up)

Effectiveness of product: 8/10
Value for money: 10/10
All in all rating: 8.5/10
Will I recommend this to a friend? YES.

Simple night blue party look

Invited a friend over and told her I want to do her hair and make-up. Just because we're bored :p

BEFORE PICTURE
Since she was wearing a blue top, I decided to use blue shade of eye shadows. I emphasize the look with a cream black eyeliner to open up her eyes. And for the lips I chose nude color so it will not overwhelm the look.

AFTER
BIG WAVY CURLS

Products use:
NYX brow cake powder
Mac prep+prime eye base in medium
Estee lauder concealer
Maybelline minerals liq foundation
Sephora blockbuster palette 2011
Lancome palette best of colors
Elf cream eyeliner
Maybelline stilleto mascara
Clinique blush in peach
Clinique pressed powder

For the hair, I used Prostyler to give her loose wavy curls. Just used camera phone cause I was too lazy to charge my camera. hahah :p

She was satisfied with her look, and we decided to do another look some another tim. This time we'll have mini photo shoot. Hahah :)

Affordable make-up favorites

To start off with my affordable make-up favorites, here are just some of the products I've been using for quite some time now.

Starting with Ever Bilena Two cay cake powder, would you believe I started using this products since I was in 2nd year college? Like 5 years ago. And yes, it never fails to give me a great coverage on my face! I remember the first time I bought it it was just for Php120.00, I think now the price went up to Php200.00 if I'm not mistaken. I've been using the same shade ORIENTAL, since then. I love this product! And since it's "two-way cake", you can easily use this one for full coverage simply by applying it on your face with a damp sponge.

Next up, is this brown eyeshadow from Penshoppe. I just forgot how much it is, but i think Php80.00 if I'm again not mistaken. Why I love this product? Simply because it can give me a neutral smokey eye look just by using this eyeshadow. I mean, who doesn't love neutral colors for everyday look?

San-san liquid concealer, is yet another fave product. Aside from it's affordable, it also gives me a good coverage on my eye bags. Or should I say eye luggage?  hahahah My only problem with it is that, I think the shade #1 which I have is too light for my skin tone and the shade #2 that I tried perhaps is darker. What I do is that I blend it well along with liquid foundation using a sponge to neutralize the color.

Next is NYX brow cake powder, I like it because the wax works perfectly with the cake powder. Since I already have thick brows, I just need to do some filling up on my brows. I wish NYX would sell the wax separately, cause it works great with any eyeshadow powder!

NYX Lipstick in shade of Thalia. Oh how I super love this nude lipstick! I can use this all day everyday. It's not drying nor super moist. For me it's perfect for everyday use since it's nude in color.

Elf eyeshadow primer, it's good to apply base before applying eyeshadow colors. First, it enhances the color of the eyeshadow when applied. It makes the color last for hours than using eyeshadow alone. It prevents eyeshadow to crease. Not bad for a Php120.00 worth of eye base.
