DIY Brush guards, save save save!

I was wanting to buy brush guards, I know it's not a waste of money cause it will make your brushes last long. But isn't too pricey to buy when you have a lot of brushes? So I found this DIY brush guards that can help you save a lot of money! *Happy me* :)
Things you need:

Non-slip Mat
Needle
Thread
Pair of scissors

What is a non-slip mat? It's basically just a mat, that you can use in the kitchen or bathroom. You can easily find this at any Grocery or Department store. In the Philippines, you can purchase this at Japan home center, or Daiso shop. If you're familiar with that, I bought mine here in Norway TGR shop for 10kr which is roughly Php70.00.

It's gonna be easy as 1 2 3!

So let's get started?

1. Cut a portion of non-slip mat, just the right size to fit your brush. Measure it, we want our brush guards to be FIT. If not, it's not gonna help your brushes to be intact and dense.

2. After measuring the mat, cut the excess.

3. Sew the two edges together, be careful!

Voila! Instant DIY brush guard!

* You can even personalise it by using your favourite colour and the best part is, you can actually save you shrinking wallet! Christmas is coming, you might want to save up! :)

Here's a quick video on this tutorial.

Thanks for dropping by guys!

Tanya Burr Inspired, "How to look gorgeous on a night out"

So last Friday, me and my husband were invited on a surprise birthday celebration. Since it was my first time to go on like a "night out" here in Norway I decided to do a look that is gorgeous but not so overwhelming, and I came across with one of the videos of Tanya Burr. I love her! She's one of my favourite youtube make-up guru. And I thought why not remake this look?

1. Moisturize face, and apply primer if preferred.

2. Fill in eyebrows: I use Maybelline quad #4 shade in filling my inner brow, and use a dark brown e/s to fill in the rest

3. Apply foundation, I use Revlon Colorstay in 240 Medium beige with a flat top brush.

4. Apply eye primer or base.

5. Apply White shimmer e/s all over lids.

6. Using an angled liner brush, apply Black matte e/s on the lash line, make a wing and bring it up to the crease. Blend the hard edges.

7. With a medium and dark shimmer Purple e/s, apply it on the outer V area. Again, blend the hard edges. And apply the same color on the lower lash line.

8. Using a waterproof eyeliner, apply a thin line on the lash line.

9. Set using your powder, I use Mac studio fix in NC30.

10. Apply your favourite mascara.

11. Using a bronzer and an angled brush, contour the cheeks.

12. Using the same brush, I apply creme eyeshadow on the apples of my cheeks.

13. To finish it off, I use Mac Diva on my lips.

Neutral Smokey eye look

Hey friends! Here's my first make-up detailed post,  I call it Neutral smokey eye look. It's something neutral in color, mostly brown. TOTALLY wearable at day and night time. Compliments any skin type and eye color. I focused on the eyes, I didn't include my face routine.
Okay so just to let you know that I can't find natural lighting here, it's because here in our place the sun rises around 8 or 9 am and sun sets at 3 or 4 pm. Not cool huh? Blame Winter :( So please do understand why I can't take pictures/videos with natural lighting. as much as I wanted too at day time, as you all know I'm a mom so I'm pretty much busy with the baby and doing stuff. lol

1) I always tend to put eye primer whenever I apply shadows. If you don't have a primer, a cream concealer is a good substitute.

2) Apply Medium brown shimmer e/s all over the lids.

3) With Light brown e/s apply it one the crease area using a crease/blending brush.
Maybelline quad in Woodrose
 4) Using a pointed brush, apply Dark brown e/s on the outer V of your eyelids and blend the hard edges

 5) I use White Shimmer e/s to highlight my inner eyelids
 6) Highlight the brow bone using a White matte e/s

And the finish look?

I also made a quick video showing how to create this look.

Products used:
♦ Sephora blockbuster palette 2011
♦ Maybelline quad in Woodrose

Hope you like this post! I would love to hear comments and suggestions friends :)
