Nivea double effect eye make-up remover short review

Hi friends! In this blog, I'm going to share s short review on my current make up remover product. I'm so happy I discovered this product, I've been using this since April 2012 and I'm still satisfied with the results every time I use it. Finally found the most gentle way to remove even my heaviest eye make-up. It's the Nivea double-effect eye make-up remover, aside from it is affordable (49kroner that's roughly Php350) I find it perfect for removing eye make-up as well as caring for your sensitive eye area too.

♦ Double effect eye make-up remover (the blue and clear liquid) I think the Blue serves caring oil, while the clear liquid is the remover itself.
♦ Extreme waterproof mascara remover - I agree. I always prefer to use waterproof mascara, so this is a plus point for me. It really removes my mascara, with 5-6 wipes. I'm not really into like "instant" effect, so it doesn't bother me if I do 5 wipes on my eyes.
♦ Caring formula protects eye lashes. Suitable even for sensitive eye area

125ml, a lot of product compared to other brands

(this video shows how the product effectively removes layers of eye make-up)

Effectiveness of product: 8/10
Value for money: 10/10
All in all rating: 8.5/10
Will I recommend this to a friend? YES.

Simple night blue party look

Invited a friend over and told her I want to do her hair and make-up. Just because we're bored :p

BEFORE PICTURE
Since she was wearing a blue top, I decided to use blue shade of eye shadows. I emphasize the look with a cream black eyeliner to open up her eyes. And for the lips I chose nude color so it will not overwhelm the look.

AFTER
BIG WAVY CURLS

Products use:
NYX brow cake powder
Mac prep+prime eye base in medium
Estee lauder concealer
Maybelline minerals liq foundation
Sephora blockbuster palette 2011
Lancome palette best of colors
Elf cream eyeliner
Maybelline stilleto mascara
Clinique blush in peach
Clinique pressed powder

For the hair, I used Prostyler to give her loose wavy curls. Just used camera phone cause I was too lazy to charge my camera. hahah :p

She was satisfied with her look, and we decided to do another look some another tim. This time we'll have mini photo shoot. Hahah :)

Affordable make-up favorites

To start off with my affordable make-up favorites, here are just some of the products I've been using for quite some time now.

Starting with Ever Bilena Two cay cake powder, would you believe I started using this products since I was in 2nd year college? Like 5 years ago. And yes, it never fails to give me a great coverage on my face! I remember the first time I bought it it was just for Php120.00, I think now the price went up to Php200.00 if I'm not mistaken. I've been using the same shade ORIENTAL, since then. I love this product! And since it's "two-way cake", you can easily use this one for full coverage simply by applying it on your face with a damp sponge.

Next up, is this brown eyeshadow from Penshoppe. I just forgot how much it is, but i think Php80.00 if I'm again not mistaken. Why I love this product? Simply because it can give me a neutral smokey eye look just by using this eyeshadow. I mean, who doesn't love neutral colors for everyday look?

San-san liquid concealer, is yet another fave product. Aside from it's affordable, it also gives me a good coverage on my eye bags. Or should I say eye luggage?  hahahah My only problem with it is that, I think the shade #1 which I have is too light for my skin tone and the shade #2 that I tried perhaps is darker. What I do is that I blend it well along with liquid foundation using a sponge to neutralize the color.

Next is NYX brow cake powder, I like it because the wax works perfectly with the cake powder. Since I already have thick brows, I just need to do some filling up on my brows. I wish NYX would sell the wax separately, cause it works great with any eyeshadow powder!

NYX Lipstick in shade of Thalia. Oh how I super love this nude lipstick! I can use this all day everyday. It's not drying nor super moist. For me it's perfect for everyday use since it's nude in color.

Elf eyeshadow primer, it's good to apply base before applying eyeshadow colors. First, it enhances the color of the eyeshadow when applied. It makes the color last for hours than using eyeshadow alone. It prevents eyeshadow to crease. Not bad for a Php120.00 worth of eye base.

How I clean my make up brushes

So it's been 2 weeks since I last clean my brushes and today I decided to make my first video showing How I currently clean my brushes. I have so many old techniques in cleaning my brushes. One that can work is by using Joy antibac dishwashing liquid incorporating  it with some drops of olive oil. Well yeah, olive oil sounds expensive but you'll just use some drops in one cleaning so you can buy just a small bottle of olive oil and save the rest or maybe try to cook some pasta perhaps? :)

So here are the things I used:

Clean towel
Clean cup
Shampoo/ Baby shampoo
Warm water

1. Put some drops of shampoo into the cup and add some water.

2. Take a dirty brush, dip in the cup and gently brush it on your palm in a circular motion. Do the same procedure with other brushes.

3. Wash the brushes by placing in on warm running water and squeezed out the excess water in the brush.

4. Pat dry with clean towel, and let it dry completely.

For the video, and editing I used iPhone5 so it's not a clean video. Cause I just tried filming anyways :p But it's super handy for doing video blogs. Now, I want an iPhone 5. I regret that I didn't wait for it and insisted to have Samsung s3. :( Oh well, life. hahahah

Thank you for reading and watching! :)

Beef with cream of mushroom

Blogging about one of my fave dishes! Finally sharing with you some of my skills in cooking. LOL

Ingredients:

5 cloves of garlic, minced
1 kg. of beef, sliced into inch strips
1 can Cream of mushroom
Sliced/whole mushrooms in can (optional)
Soy sauce
Pepper
Salt
Cooking oil
Water

1. Marinate beef with minced garlic, 3tbsp soy sauce and dash of pepper and salt for at least an hour two. You can marinate the beef overnight.

2. Heat up a pan/wok, put 2 tbsp of cooking oil. Wait until the oil is hot enough, then put the marinated beef. Saute, until the juice comes out. Let it simmer for at least 5-10mins.

3. Add 1 cup of water and 1 tbsp of soy sauce.  Stir and let the beef simmer until its tender.

4. Add the cream of mushroom, in this step you need to taste the saltiness or the flavor. If it's too much, gradually add water/salt little by little until you reach the desired taste. Add dash of pepper if desired.

5. Add sliced/whole mushrooms. This is optional, and because I LOVE mushrooms I always put mushrooms in almost every dish I cook :p

6. Garnish with parsley on top. In my case I put onion chives. Serve with hot rice.
Try this recipe at home and let me know what you think :) Happy eating! Nomnomnom
